Welcome to Sycamore Nuisance
Sycamore is a name which has been applied to several types of trees, but with somewhat similar leaf forms.
The common sycamore found in the United Kingdom is known as a Acer pseudoplatanus. The sycamore can grow to a height of about 35 m (115 ft)
Most people like trees. However, when the tree is either destroying your home, causing subsidence, damaging boundary walls or lifting up your driveway or pavements & or obstructing your views, it can become a nuisance.
If your reading this website, there is a probability that you have one of these issues and you have tried to resolve it by various means, including speaking to the local council, or trying to speak your neighbours direct, to resolve the problems. More often, neither of these attempts have helped resolve your problems.
If you currently have or have had a problem with a Sycamore Tree and manage to resolve to, please do get in touch and let us now, so that the hundreds, if not thousands of other people in a similar position might read your experience and how you managed to revolve it, in a legal way. Your help in this area would be regretfully received by all. This may included either using solicitor or local council services. In 2023, we requested a visit from our local counil, who kindly came to our home, but regretfully reported to us that their was nothing that could be done. It is important to remember that sycamore trees are classified as deciduous trees (which lose their leaves in the autum) and are therfore not classified as either semi evergreen or everygreen trees, so the high hedge law does not come into effect with these trees, no matter how tall they are and regarless of the fact that you may live in the shade during the several months sycamores produce leaves.
If you used a solicitor to aid in this area and are happy to let us know which ones, please do, so that their name and services may also be published on this website, in order that others may look at using them if they are in a similar problem.
The purpose of this website is to promote potential positive ways forward, if any are found or known about.
Where possible, links will be added to the sources of information, for you to inspect and decide for yourself on it’s authenticity.
If you have ever managed to rectify your problems via a legal root, please let us know so that we can promote your positive story, for others to read and consider taking a similar approach. There are many people with similar problems.
